My Comeback Story: Gary D.

Ankle fracture recovery.

As a result of my left ankle injury about 3+months ago in July this year, I was referred to Dr Lindsey at OrthoSC by the Novant Health Urgent care place where I initially went to. My initial visit at OrthoSC was a pleasant experience, initially dealing with their friendly and knowledgeable front office staff as well as with one of their medical staff India, who was so sweet and helpful fitting me for my stabilization boot after I met with Dr Lindsey. When I first met Dr Lindsey, I immediately liked his friendly and uplifting persona. I really appreciated his very helpful explanation of my injury as we both reviewed my x-rays, where he showed me the small chip fracture that occurred to my left ankle. Dr. L reassured me that no surgery was required and that my recovery needed to be treated like a bad sprain with the initial RICE treatment. After his further analysis of my progress in my 2nd follow-up appt with him after 2 weeks from my initial visit, I had more X-rays taken and Dr L said my small chip fracture is healing better and suggested I switch to a small ankle brace as well as to start doing some isometric and isotonic exercises. On my 3rd and final follow visit, Dr L was very satisfied that my ankle was healing very well, and said no PT was needed and suggested I continue doing those isometric and isotonic exercises. He also said to ease into doing more weight bearing calf exercises in my gym, and start to slowly resume my activities of running, golfing and mountain biking. With Dr Lindsey’s knowledge and expertise, I was grateful he guided me to a complete recovery to allow me to resume my very active fitness/cardio lifestyle again.
