My Comeback Story: Martha M.

I need that knee!

This summer I took a water aerobics class in my neighborhood pool and we were doing a lot of dance moves in the water. I'm a dancer and I was having a great time until all the sudden I made a sideways move and I felt something pop in my left knee. I didn't think much about it until the next day when I went to a 3-hour dance rehearsal for the local group that I am in. As the hours wore on my knee was hurting more and more. I was supposed to take a tap class that night but at the end of rehearsal I said I am not going to make it to that! I went home and iced my knee. That evening it swelled up to twice its normal size. I've never had that happen before. I said to myself. I need that knee! My dancing is too important to me! So I made a phone call to Dr. Feathers. He gave me a cortisone shot in my wrist last year which literally cured my dequerevene syndrome within 2 weeks after 6 weeks of physical therapy that wasn't helping much. During this visit I received four x-rays to my knee and was told that it was fine. Other than a little bit of arthritis in there. Dr. Feathers said I must have snapped a tendon on my meniscus. He sent me to physical therapy and after a month of that I'm doing great! My knee is so much better than it was even before I started physical therapy. Thank you Dr. Feathers!
