- “My heart-felt appreciation to surgeon William L. Mills, MD, the medical orthopedic team, assistants, nurses and all personnel at the Spine Center, Coastal Orthopedics, Conway Medical Center, in Conway, South Carolina. Before my laminectomy, I experienced unbearable pain due to a spinal misalignment, herniated disc and pinched nerve from L5 to S1 vertebrae. I could not find relief from excruciating pain, numbness, tingling and violent cramping down left leg from buttock to bottom of left foot . Everyday normal standing, walking, sitting and sleeping was painful. April 21, 2016 post surgery results: Entire left leg pain free! I was at CMC for two nights and sent home with a low dose pain prescription. After surgery, I felt tremendous relief and actual good thoughts about the slight awareness of stitches, 29 tiny staples, short rods and screws under one bandage. For me, a time to celebrate. I will soon be stepping into my normal life activities. Thanks again, William L. Mills, MD. Fellowship-trained Spine Surgeon and the medical team at CMC. - “I was in such pain on my right side when I had come to see Dr. Alci back in March. I had terrible headaches all the time, dropping things, tingling in my arm, loss of motion on my right side. The pain was so bad I could not stand up straight and would lean to the right side all the time. With the expertise of Dr. Alci I found I had to have ACDF surgery due to disc in my neck pushing on my spine. Surgery was scheduled and Dr. Alci was wonderful at explaining everything to me – the risk factors, the dos and donts before and after surgery. Dr. Alci performed my surgery on May 9th, 2016. When I woke up after it was finished, I could not believe the pain on my right side was gone. I have been able to stand up straight for the first time in years without it hurting. The pain in my hand that I thought was coming from carpal tunnel is no longer there. Now the pain is just the after surgery pain and pain I feel from muscles not being used in so long. I cannot begin to thank Dr. Alci enough for enabling me to be an active mother again to my very active 2 year old daughter and 5 year old son who is autistic. - “I was experiencing severe pain in my hands with significant swelling and having extreme difficulty performing my job as a chemotherapy infusion nurse. I called your office for an appointment and was given one for 6 days later. I thought that was great! Then the person I spoke with informed me about your Ortho Clinic offered from 5-7pm Monday through Thursday. I went to the clinic that day and was seen by a provider and given a script for some steroids to help reduce the inflammation. I was impressed and pleased with Dr. Gayton and the treatment I received at my 1st appointment. I appreciated that he treated me with respect as a longtime medical professional-as a nurse for the last 41 years. That meant a lot to me. My surgical procedure was conducted very efficiently with all parties involved being helpful and caring professionals. I'm still being followed by Dr. Gayton and receiving some hand therapy at Coastal Rehab. - “I had a shoulder problem that needed professional help. My family doctor arranged my appointment with Coastal Orthopedics because I wanted a location close to home. I was surprised at the number of doctors at Coastal Orthopedics but the staff has it all very well organized and I didn't have a very long wait before I was seen by Dr. Gayton. Dr. Gayton did a great job of diagnosing my problem and prescribed physical therapy which, I'm pleased to say, worked great, no surgery needed. I'm thankful for that.
