Remote Patient Engagement
At OrthoSC, we’re committed to making your surgical journey clear and supported, and we use CareSense, a remote patient engagement platform for total joint replacement and spinal fusion patients. CareSense delivers automated education and check-ins by text and/or email to reinforce your care plan, provide consistent information, and help identify concerns early in the process.
What CareSense Does
CareSense delivers timely information and reminders that help you stay on track throughout your surgical journey, including:
- Preoperative and postoperative education
- Automated check-ins and progress prompts
- Reminders to start Hibiclens wash and mupirocin ointment (when prescribed)
- Confirmation that therapy has started (when applicable)
- Ensures postoperative appointments are scheduled
- Symptom check-ins for concerns such as fever or uncontrolled pain
What to Expect
You may receive messages from CareSense by text and/or email at key points before and after surgery. In some cases, CareSense will prompt you to contact the office based on your responses. For example, you may be instructed to call if you do not have a postoperative appointment scheduled within a certain time frame or if you report symptoms such as fever or uncontrolled pain.
