I thought that Dr. Bohan was a good listener and not someone who tried to push you into surgery. He gave you the facts and wanted you to decide when you were ready. I am a snowbird and Dr. Bohan worked with me to try to get me scheduled for surgery and then be able to complete my PT in a timely fashion. The entire protocol for the surgery was well thought out from washing with antibiotic soap for 3 days before surgery, taking iron for a month ahead in order to avoid anemia, putting a special cream in your nostrils to help control the entry of germs into your system and planning an overnight stay only, if that is possible. He prefers to do a spinal and something to calm you rather than a general anesthesia which in turn allows you to be able to get up and move much sooner. You are in a room by yourself with disposable pillows and whatever else they can do to control germs and prevent infections. The hospital also has a special orthopedic table and Dr. Bohan uses the anterior procedure for hip replacement which aids faster healing. I couldn't be happier with my results, Dr. Bohan's caring ways, and the rest of the staff. The office seems to be efficiently run and the staff is welcoming.
