Dr. Ryan Mathern will start seeing patients the week of August 5, 2024.

Offering nonsurgical solutions for bone, joint, muscle, and nerve problems, Dr. Ryan Mathern is a fellowship-trained interventional spine and musculoskeletal specialist. He is dedicated to restoring function back to your life using a comprehensive approach with care plans tailored to your unique needs.

Dr. Mathern graduated from The Pennsylvania State University in University Park with a Bachelor of Science degree in bioengineering. He went on to complete his Doctor of Medicine degree at Cooper Medical School of Rowan University in Camden, New Jersey. He completed his internship at North Florida Regional Medical Center/University of Central Florida in Gainesville, and then he completed his physical medicine and rehabilitation residency at Atrium Health Carolinas Rehabilitation in Charlotte, North Carolina. He was then selected for a fellowship in interventional spine and musculoskeletal medicine at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia.

In his practice, Dr. Mathern utilizes an approach that focuses on a patient's well-being physically, mentally, and socially. He enjoys getting to know what makes a patient "tick" and seeing them return back to the job or activity that they love.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Mathern’s interests include exercise and fitness. He also enjoys spending time outdoors, fishing, and following Philadelphia sports teams.

Dr. Mathern is available to see patients experiencing issues with pain or function at our Market Common and Murrells Inlet offices.
