Originally from Oakton, Virginia, Dr. Jacob Farrar first attended Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia, where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in biology. He then completed his Doctor of Medicine degree at The George Washington University School of Medicine & Health Sciences in Washington, D.C.

Dr. Farrar finished both his medical internship and orthopedic surgery residency at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond. He went on to further his training in the subspecialty of joint replacement and completed his adult hip and knee reconstruction fellowship training at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia.

Outside of his practice, Dr. Farrar enjoys traveling, cooking, and spending time with his family.

Dr. Farrar is available to see joint replacement patients at our Murrells Inlet office.
