- “Dr Ramsey is amazing. During my very first appointment, he put all of my fears to rest. Nine years ago, I had a total hip replacement in Dallas, Texas and the surgery and subsequent rehab was tough and long. Thank goodness Dr. Ramsey has this less invasive procedure! I am now day 5 after my surgery and walking with little aid; my pain is minimal, only muscular which is expected. Dr. Ramsey made me feel as though I was his only patient and the morning of my surgery, he once again made me feel relaxed and confident. - “My Main providers in the practice are Erin Watson and Peter Ramsey which truly terrific, excellent and caring doctors. I also see Doug Vick on a regular basis who is a wonderful PA. He really cares about what you are going through. as a patient. I really never had to wait long to see him. He makes one feel comfortable. I would say the same for Peter Ramsey's PA Chris Kearny. I love all of their staff including their nurses: Nikki, Melissa and Briana. Everyone responds to my needs in a prompt fashion. Some practices make people wait for a long time o answers to questions or medication refills but not Coastal Ortho. I get my answers that day. The patient portal is a great tool in which to get information. Really a top notch practice. I have recommended the doctors to anybody who is in pain. Thank you all for taking care of me. - “I have seen Dr. Alci for a ALIF and PLIF, Dr. Ramsey for a bursitis in my right hip, and Dr. Watson for osteoporosis. I have found all three to be eminently qualified, personable and patient centered in their care. - “I was suffering awfully with neck and shoulder pain. A great friend referred me to Dr. Billy Mills. I was immediately seen, had x-rays taken, diagnosed and a method of treatment was recommended. I had seen 4 other orthopedic and neurological surgeons and was not convinced that the old fashioned way, with screws and cages, was the way to go. Dr. Billy showed me a video of a newer, more permanent procedure, and it sold me. Immediately after surgery the pain was gone. - “I first met Dr. Mills in 1992 when he first arrived. I knew him when he was single and had hair. He brought his "then" baby girl Carolina with him to the hospital to check on me after he did my 4th spinal surgery. I have entrusted Dr. Mills with my spinal care for over 20 years. I have spoken very highly of him when talking with other people needing surgery or searching for a doctor. He has always been up front and professional and his level of care and concern are exceptional. Angela Lane, his nurse and other right hand has also been wonderful, a credit to her profession and care. And I can honestly say that this Lady deserves a raise or commendation fo her years of service to Dr. Mills and Coastal Orthopaedics. Coastal Orthopaedics has always been exceptional from care through to financial aid. But I tell you this right now....do whatever you have to do to keep Dr. Mills and Angela at Coastal Orthopaedics, because you have 2 of the most exceptional people I have ever had the pleasure of being around. Dr. Mills is straight up honest and he is not one to just give out drugs and send you on your way. He invests time with his patients and that is something that has failed through the years if medical care, because it seems as if it is more on the business end than the caring end and Dr. Mills has kept that through his years as a surgeon...while others have thrown it out the window. People NEED to know their doctor will take time with them. Dr. Mills does just that. The staff are exceptional in dealong with the financial end of Coastal Orthopaedics and that relieves many burdens on patients who need care but can't pay up front completely. Stay on this path. Don't lose your ability or desire to really care and to show it. If you polled all of Horry County on what they would like to see in the medical field...it would be....Doctors who spent the time with patients in the exam room....communication...talking so the patient understands...and not look at them like they are just another pay check. - “I have actually not spent a lot of time with Dr. Ramsey although he is the Surgeon that I have decided will do my knee. I mostly see his PA but not sure of his name. But, nonetheless, the time I did spend with Dr. Ramsey and his PA have been very pleasant. In spite of the fact that they gave me shots. :-) I hate shots. But they took the time to make me feel comfortable about getting the shots.
